 Aug 6, 2024

I am finally starting to work on my blog.

A hot item in the news today is Kamala Harris’ pick for VP, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

The other candidate, who Harris bypassed, was Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro.

The difference between Walz and Shapiro is very stark! The question that comes to mind is how is it possible that Harris’ two contenders are so sharply different. While Shapiro is Jewish and at least in a left-oriented sense, supportive of Israel, Walz is a seriously progressive governor who, among other things, legislated that tampons be available in all bathrooms, including the boy’s bathrooms in schools. Will he have the ability and the will to stand up to the far left squad members who are openly and violently anti-Israel and antisemitic?

I have wondered if Harris actually seriously entertained the idea of choosing Shapiro as her VP pick.

I suspect that Shapiro was merely a distraction, a ploy to make people think that Kamala Harris was considering appointing a pro-Israel Jew for VP. This makes Harris look less progressive and pro-Palestinian than she actually is. Her ploy may even have pulled the wool over the eyes of those Democrats who feel a little uncomfortable about voting for a President who will be ambivalent, if not hostile, in her approach to Israel.

Just wondering….
